B.C. PHILATELIC SOCIETY MEETING SCHEDULE

APRIL 2014 - JUNE 2014

Meetings start at 7:30 p.m. and end at 9:30 p.m. Refreshments are provided, but please bring your own cup or mug. We´re always looking for volunteers to present programs; don't be shy about telling us about your collecting interests. If you are interested in presenting a program, contact Treasurer Derren Carman or Vice President Tom Balabanov.

APRIL, 2014

• Wednesday, April 16 - Monthly Auction: Members and guests are invited to participate. Sellers are invited to consign up to six items. The club keeps a 10% commission. Your Donations are welcome. (Please note: The auction committee requests that sellers use our auction lotting forms.)

• Wednesday, April 23 - Activity Night: A "Show-and-Tell" night about ephemera, those types of collectibles that aren't philatelic but are related in some way to your collections of stamps, covers, and other postal artifacts. For example, a collector of airliner topical stamps might well collect airline tickets or baggage labels as well. Photographs, maps, receipts, diaries, books may all qualify as ephemera collateral to particular collections. Bring up to six items from your collection to display and discuss.

• Wednesday, April 30 - Swap & Shop Social: Your first chance to browse the April - May mailing of circuit books of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. Buy, sell and trade.

MAY, 2014

• Wednesday, May 7 - Swap & Shop Social: Your second chance to browse the circuit books from the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. Buy, sell and trade.

• Wednesday, May 14 - Speaker Night: Mike Souza is back with A History Of Hong Kong Coinage and Concentration Camp and Ghetto Money - Part 2.

• Wednesday, June 4 - Swap & Shop Social: Your second chance to browse the circuit books from the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada. Buy, sell and trade.

• Wednesday, June 11 - Activity Night: Another "Show and Tell" night - "Birth-year, Birthday Philately". Bring along up to six items that are somehow related to the year, or better yet, the day, you were born. Examples might be covers or stamps cancelled on "your" day or during "your" year. Even better would be stamps that might have been issued on your birthday. How about covers or postcards from the place you were born?
